First basic education is better to get in a traditional way. Distance education is worth thinking when you are up to second education, extension courses or some good business school abroad when you don't have a possibility to move there.
Getting a distance educational permits: - studying relevant to your perception level, educational needs, etc. - you can choose whatever educational institution you want, you don't care about geography; - possibility appears to use modern technologies applied in education proccess; - you can make classes schedule on your own.
But as all other distance education has it's deficiencies, amon them: - no personal contact with teachers or students that study with you, no impressions and experience exchange with them; -neccessity for motivation to study without being pushed by the teacher; - you cannot apply the knowledge you get immediately and ask proffesor about it.
Distance education have appeared not so long ago so there is a possibility of dummy businesses therefore you should regard an institution choice with a lot of responsobility and attention. You can't always check how is it really going at person. In this case the best way to find out how is everything is to know the facts about the institution: how long does it exist, what's the gradates number, etc. The very best would be to find someone who has graduated from there and question him about it all. If you are thinking about choosing courses abroad, e.g. for MBA then you should check if this school has an accreditation. In US one could get accreditation only in a Council for Higher Education Accreditation. So you could check your choice at www.chea.org.
